Community Engagement Intern (Summer 2027)

Join Zipline's community engagement team for a summer internship around U.S. autonomous delivery launches.

What the role actually is

Zipline is hiring a summer 2027 community engagement intern across U.S. launch markets including Texas, California, and Arizona. The intern would support local relationship-building, outreach, events, and education around autonomous delivery service launches.

This is not a technical robotics internship. It is a public-facing role for someone interested in how autonomous systems become acceptable, useful, and understandable in real communities.

What you would work on

  • Support community outreach for Zipline's U.S. autonomous delivery launches
  • Help prepare materials, events, research, and relationship tracking for local stakeholders
  • Work with community, policy, operations, and communications teams
  • Capture questions and concerns from people affected by new delivery operations

What they are asking for

  • Interest in community engagement, communications, public affairs, policy, or local operations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort working with civic, school, neighborhood, and business groups
  • Ability to work onsite in one of the listed U.S. launch markets during the summer internship

Why this one is worth a look

Zipline's drones are only part of the system. Community acceptance, public explanation, and local trust determine whether a launch works. This internship gives early-career candidates exposure to that side of robotics deployment.
