Principal Technical Product Manager

What the role actually is

Shield AI is hiring a principal technical product manager for Special Projects inside the Hivemind organization. The work spans the product surface around autonomy development, simulation, testing, edge deployment, and the tooling that lets teams move intelligent aircraft systems from models to operations.

This is a very technical PM role. The users are likely engineers, researchers, operators, and internal teams building or validating autonomy systems rather than a broad consumer audience.

What you would work on

• Define product direction across Hivemind platform components and Special Projects work
• Translate CTO-level technical priorities into product requirements and execution paths
• Shape tooling around autonomy development, testing, evaluation, and deployment
• Work with senior engineering experts across robotics, aerospace, cloud, and simulation

• Principal-level technical product management experience
• Deep comfort with software platforms, robotics, autonomy, AI, or simulation systems
• Ability to work directly with senior engineers on ambiguous technical problems
• Strong judgment about what platform capabilities matter for operational deployment
