Senior Industrial Designer, Fauna

What the role actually is

Fauna is hiring a senior industrial designer to refine robot exterior parts from approved design intent into production-ready surfaces. The job sits close to mechanical design, tooling, CMF, and cosmetic finish decisions.

The work is about making the robot's visible hardware feel deliberate while still respecting draft, wall thickness, assembly, manufacturing constraints, and vendor realities.

What you would work on

• Lead Class A surface development for exterior robot components
• Turn sketches or concept geometry into production-intent 3D models
• Resolve DFM issues with design engineering and manufacturing partners
• Define cosmetic finish and CMF details that hold up at scale

What they are asking for

• Senior experience in industrial design, design innovation, or product R&D
• CAD fluency and comfort managing engineering-heavy design projects
• Ability to make tradeoffs across aesthetics, tooling, manufacturing, and cost
• Experience collaborating with mechanical, hardware, and vendor teams
